Dìa 1: We leave Rurrenabaque by 4 WD jeep at 9:00 a.m to the Municipal Reserve of the Yacuma River. After 3 ½ hours we arrive at our Ecolodge Caracoles, which is located on the shores of the Yacuma River. Lunch will be served and you have time to relax in a hammock. In the afternoon we make a boat trip where you have the chance to see a lot of wildlife like caimans, alligators, monkeys, capybaras, pink river dolphins, turtles and numerous species of birds. Unlike a rainforest most of these animals can easily been seen from boats travelling the Yacuma River.
Dìa 2: In the morning we walk through the wetlands and look for anacondas and alligators. When we return to our lodge we have lunch and time to take a nap. In the afternoon we fish piranhas and swim with pink river dolphins. After dinner we make a an other excursion by boat where you see the glowing red eyes of caimans and other nocturnal life along the riverbank.
Dìa 3: In the morning we travel by boat to a place where we can observe a lot of squirrel monkeys and other wildlife. After lunch we can either walk again in the wetlands, observing monkeys and birds or we can go fishing. Species that exists in the Yacuma River includes blanquillos, bentones and piranhas.
Dìa 4:After breakfast we discover the wetlands on a horseback, the typical way of transport in this region. During this excursion we have the possibility to observe birds and different species of monkeys. After lunch we transfer back to Rurrenabaque where we arrive about 5:00 p.m.
